Yacht Registration
The Dominica Yacht Registry has been designed for Yacht owners seeking to operate under the advantages of an open registry, while understanding that today's commercial yachts may be required to comply with many international standards such as the STCW Code and SOLAS, private yachts may be exempt. Our goal is to operate this yacht registry as the premier international yacht registry, providing a benefit and service to owners serving as benefit to an owner, and serve as an elite group of pleasure vessels complying with standards above of the industry norm.

Our annual Yacht Inspection service is based on standards generated by Lloyd's Register.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION FOR YACHT REGISTRATION:

Application for Official Number, Call Sign and Registration of Vessel
Proof of Authority of Agent or Officer executing registration documents
Proof of Ownership, Bill of Sale or Builder's Certificate
Proof of Liability Insurance, including owner's repatriation obligations
Proof of Port State Detention Insurance
Consent of Government of present Registry to transfer, as applicable
Mortgage Recordation, if applicable
Confirmation of Class, issued by one of the five noted societies, within 10 days of registration
Affidavit or Statement of Class, as applicable
Waiver of Age (if vessel is over 20 years of age)
ISM Code Declaration Form, as applicable
Authorization to Register
All fees paid

The fee structure is simple. It is separated into two categories, commercial yachts and private yachts, and requires one flat fee for each category.

Commercial Yachts: Any pleasure yacht engaged in trade, commerce, on charter or carrying passengers for hire is a commercial yacht. The registration of commercial yachts is limited to those of 24 meters or more in length. The Maritime Administrator may, however, consider waiving the minimum size limitation and other requirements for commercial yachts less than 24 meters in length.

$3,500 (US) per annum

Private Yachts: Any pleasure yacht not on charter or carrying passengers for hire, not engaged in trade or commerce, and being used solely for the pleasure or recreational purposes of its owner to be a private yacht.

$2,500 (US) per annum
